Maintaining brand consistency is essential across design, manufacturing, placement and installation. Our in-house design and project management team collaborate closely with you to interpret your brand and signage vision to life.

We start with your brief to dive deep into the specific look, feel, message, and budget requirements. We will often suggest unconventional ideas so you’re aware of what is possible and even if they don’t make the final cut, they are intended to spark inspiration and promote innovation.

Then, we focus on manufacturing and installation to identify the best methods and cost-effective solutions. Considerations here are manufacturing time, procurement, longevity, warranty, maintenance, installation and overall cost saving.

Once we’ve settled on a design solution, we sense check from manufacture through to installation and warranty to ensure it aligns with the brief. We then present you with this solution, complete with costings and, if needed, prototypes. Prototyping can involve 3D scale modelling through to full-size manufacture of components, or a complete sign that can be used as part of a project. This process is particularly useful for rebrand, multi-site or signage development projects.

We understand that a successful corporate brand is defined by the company’s mission, values, and objectives, speaks to the company’s culture and is instantly recognisable. Establishing a brand requires significant investment, and to maintain its impact, brand standards must be consistently upheld across all touchpoints.

Manufacturing

Our in-house manufacturing capabilities include steel and aluminium manufacture, cutting and grooving of all of our substrates, acrylic fabrication and folding, LED illumination installation, graphics production and application, 3D routering and painting, assembly and kit setting, crating and freighting. We handle all our own digiprint, vinyl, and graphics in-house, with the ability to print on any required substrate. We are an accredited 3M Select Gold provider for the range of 3M films and vinyls.

We are often de-imaging sites either prior to rebrand, or as part of site closures. We always dispose of unwanted brands in a responsible and sustainable manner.

Our factories across the country provide ample space for assembly with large yard areas for storage of finished or reclaimed goods and dedicated vinyl application, graphics weeding and car graphics area. Our external suppliers handle vacuum forming, moulding, and powder coating.

We partner with our clients and suppliers to provide long-term meaningful warranties and guarantees. Our key supplier relationships include Computaleta, PSP, Ulrich Aluminium, and Total Supply. We stand behind our offering today and into the future: this means choosing suppliers, materials and manufacturing methodologies to suit the intended life of the signage.

Installation

We supply and install to all regions across New Zealand, with our project managers overseeing installation and implementation. Whether we are removing or repositioning a sign at a single-site installation, or implementing a large national roll-out of new branding, our project manager’s objective is to ensure that the installation goes to plan according to timings, safety and budget.

Our main installation contractors are specialised installers, Site Safe-accredited, licenced access equipment users and have been with us for a considerable period of time. They bring an in-depth understanding to signage installation and design as well as best-in-industry Health and Safety practice. In all instances, our installation contractors act as an extension of Sharp Signs operating under our brand and to our standards.

We maintain an excellent Health and Safety record supported by our comprehensive Health and Safety Management System, covering all manufacturing and offsite operations. This system fosters a culture of safety and environmental awareness among our team, contractors, and clients. For installations, our Site Specific Safety Plan (SSSP) guides our contractors, who provide safe work method statements, permits, and conduct daily toolbox meetings. When a main contractor is in control, we follow their Health and Safety protocols.

Project Management

No matter the size of the job, our project managers take full ownership of delivering your signage project on time, within budget, and to exact specifications, all while prioritising safety.

Once an order is confirmed, they handle everything from start to finish, including pre-design guidance, permit acquisition, manufacturing, site installation, final follow-up once the job is completed, and ongoing maintenance coordination. They ensure every detail aligns with the scope.

Often, our team steps into the role of head contractor, coordinating and managing sub-trades and other suppliers. We’re just as comfortable working as subcontractors or with client-led contractors, provided that clear operational guidelines are established.
Our project managers work collaboratively, drawing on the collective expertise of our Sales and Production teams, to ensure you receive a seamless experience with exceptional results.

Maintenance

Outdoor signage typically lasts five to seven years, depending on maintenance. New Zealand's high UV exposure and extreme weather can be especially harsh on materials, making regular inspections and cleaning essential to prolonging signage life and maintaining warranty compliance.

Regular signage cleaning helps us spot potential issues early, extend lifespan, and keep your brand looking its best. Our maintenance team is dedicated to preserving your image, offering preventative care for wear and tear on mechanical and electrical components, routine cleaning, re-vinyl, or providing a full replacement if necessary.
